Our Spring / Summer 2017 Seasonal Trio Pack includes one 10oz jar, each, of three of our favorite fresh-roasted nut butters to pack for a picnic or day at the beach: Almond Ginger, Chai Spice, and Peanut Pecan.
Our Almond Ginger Butter combines fresh-roasted Mission almonds with a gorgeous, golden-hued crystallized ginger from The Ginger People’s inspiring FIJI GINGER project, organic cane sugar, and sea salt. The resulting vibrant and lemony almond butter is delightful as a breakfast spread on warm waffles, a unique way to wake up your AB&J, a base for an Asian-inspired dressing, and of course, a snack right out of the jar.
Created for Mark and Megan's wedding in 2013, our Chai Spice nut butter combines American agriculture in the form of peanuts, almonds, and wildflower honey with traditional tea spices of the Indian subcontinent, where “chai” is simply a word for “tea” in Hindi. Like gumbo in Louisiana or peach pie in Georgia, there are as many spiced tea recipes in India as there are families, who pass them down from generation to generation. Our Chai Spice mixture is a traditional Masala Chai blend of cardamom, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, and black pepper, which we slowly mix with fresh-roasted, freshly milled peanuts and almonds before adding local wildflower honey and sea salt to create a bright, complex burst of flavor in every spoonful. Megan, who drinks hot chai every morning in the cold months, always had a hard time choosing a favorite Big Spoon nut butter… until now.
The quintessential Southern nut butter, our Peanut Pecan Butter combines the rich, buttery sweetness of roasted pecans with peanuts slow-roasted to a deep amber. The hints of sea salt and honey round out a flavor that our farmers’ market customers often call “addictive.”
